Schedule and Take a Road Test After you have completed all pre-licensing requirements, find out how to schedule your road test appointment and prepare for your test day.

To cancel, reschedule, or confirm your road test appointment, visit dmv.ny.gov/roadtest or call (518) 402-2100. You must provide the 9-digit ID number that is on your NYS learner permit or driver license.

Once your completion is entered on your permit record, you can schedule your road test online or by telephone at 1-518-402-2100. The scheduling system will not ask you for a completion certificate.

Chapters 4 through 11 include material you must know to pass the DMV written test for a Class D, DJ or E learner permit. The chapters have interactive quizzes with actual test questions.
